Tomato Plate and Soft Shells Are Back!

Tomato plate time! Right now, we’re slicing the Cherokee Purples, Kellogg’s Breakfast (yellow) and my new favorite, Cherokee Greens (ripe green). We’ve paired these with some marinated sungold cherry tomatoes, fried green tomatoes, some Millarckee Farms’ arugula and a drizzle of Celebrity Dairy goat cheese with aged balsamic and extra virgin olive oil.

Elaine’s has been lucky enough to deal with Alex and Betsy Hitt for years, which must help us with our corner of their tomato market because there’s just not enough to go around!  Who knows how long we’ll keep our share in order to serve the sampler, but looks like the season is going well.

Soft Shell Crabs are also back for a limited time! We’ve got a new menu item in their honor:
